GACC: China's iron ore imports drop 5% in Jan-May

Imported Iron Ore Demand Import/Export Supply
China's total imports of iron ore during January-May reached 486.4 million tonnes, falling by 5.2% compared with the same period last year, according to the latest statistics released by the country's General Administration of Customs (GACC) on June 9.
In May alone, China's iron ore imports decreased by 4.9% on month to 98.1 million tonnes, which was also 3.8% lower than the total during May last year, the GACC data show.   China's blast furnace steelmakers last month were wary of buying large volumes of foreign ore as the seasonal
