WEEKLY: China's met coke stocks drop for a 10th week

The combined inventories of metallurgical coke held by the 230 independent coke producers Mysteel tracks across the country declined for the tenth straight survey week during August 8-14 to reach 393,100 tonnes, down by a large 11.9% on week and marking the lowest level since late October last year, according to Mysteel's latest survey.

Replenishment demand for met coke among some steelmakers without internal coking capacity remained firm, as their production of hot metal still hovered high. This mainly contributed to the decline in coke makers' stocks during the survey week, according to a Shanxi-based analyst. According to Mysteel's survey during August 8-15, output
