MYSTEEL: China's August FeSi output touches 5-month high

China's total ferrosilicon (FeSi) output picked up further in August to touch a five-month high of 493,300 tonnes, jumping by 46,610 tonnes or 10.4% from the previous month, according to Mysteel's monthly survey among the 136 Chinese smelters under its regular tracking.

The sampled smelters host 90% of China's FeSi smelting capacity. On a daily basis, FeSi output among the sampled smelters averaged 15,913 tonnes/day, higher by 1,503 t/d on month, the findings showed.
