MYSTEEL: China's FeSi output falls slightly in September

China's total ferrosilicon (FeSi) output declined slightly in September after the continuous rise over the prior two months, with the tonnage easing by 5,070 tonnes or 1% on month to reach 488,230 tonnes, according to Mysteel's monthly survey among the 136 Chinese smelters under its regular tracking.

The sampled smelters host 90% of China's FeSi smelting capacity. The on-month dip occurred mainly because September has one day less than August. On a daily basis, FeSi output among the sampled smelters registered 16,274 tonnes/day on average last month, growing by 361 t/d or 2.3% from the previous
