WEEKLY: China's FeSi prices remain weak, output rises

China's ferrosilicon (FeSi) prices remain weak as the continued oversupply of the ferroalloy reduces the leverage that smelters have in their talks with buyers. On September 29, Mysteel assessed the spot price of 75% FeSi at Yuan 5,367/tonne ($754/t) including the 13% VAT, lower by Yuan 68/t from one week before.
FeSi prices in the derivative market have also declined, with the most-traded FeSi futures contract on the Zhengzhou Commodity Exchange for delivery in November closing the daytime trading session at Yuan 5,610/t on Monday, lower by Yuan 82/t from the settlement price a week earlier, according to the exchange's
