GACC: China's HC FeCr imports soar 41% MoM in Sept

China's import volume of high-carbon ferrochrome (HC FeCr) experienced a significant on-month rebound in September, surging by 40.7% from August to stand at 223,800 tonnes, according to new data released by the country's General Administration of Customs (GACC). Compared to the same month last year however, the volume was still lower by 26.5%.

Most of the imported cargoes came from South Africa, Kazakhstan, India and Zimbabwe. Of the total, imports from South Africa reached 87,100 tonnes in September, up by 42.8% month-on-month but down by 40.7% year-on-year, while shipments from Kazakhstan totalled 89,600 tonnes, reflecting a 16.7% increase month on month but
