WEEKLY: China's EAF output pulls back, losses widen again

Production enthusiasm among Chinese electric-arc-furnace (EAF) steelmakers waned during the past week as the mills saw their margin losses expand rapidly, Mysteel's latest survey showed.
During October 31-November 6, the average capacity utilization rate among the 90 independent EAF steel producers under Mysteel's regular tracking reversed from the prior week's rise to drop by 2.1 percentage points on week to 50.9%, while their average operational rate also slipped 1.8 percentage points from the prior
