DAILY: China's spot thermal coal market softens as traders rush to sell

China's spot thermal coal market weakened on November 25 following a weeklong stability, as traders scrambled to offload their cargoes by offering discounts amid rising port inventories and faltering optimism.

On Tuesday, Mysteel assessed 5,500 kcal/kg NAR thermal coal at Yuan 828/tonne ($116.9/t) FOB northern ports with VAT, down Yuan 2/t from a day earlier. The assessment for 5,000 kcal/kg NAR coal saw a sharper daily drop of Yuan 4/t to Yuan 731/t, while that for the 4,500 kcal/kg
