WEEKLY: China's met coke stocks drop to over 1-month low

The combined inventories of metallurgical coke held by 230 independent producers under Mysteel's nationwide survey declined for a third week during January 2-8 to reach their lowest point since late November last year, Mysteel's latest survey results show. Survey respondents cited increased buying from steelmakers to meet their higher output of hot metal to explain the dip.

The survey findings showed that as of January 8 the 230 producers' met coke stocks totalled 441,700 tonnes, down by another 9.3% from the previous week and marking their lowest level since November 20 last year.
