DAILY: China import iron ore prices rise, sales diverge

Imported Iron Ore Price Trading
Chinese imported iron ore prices tracked higher in both the portside and seaborne markets on January 22 but buying activity in the two markets showed mixed trends.
On Thursday, Mysteel PORTDEX 62% Australian Fines in Qingdao finished at Yuan 800/wmt ($114.7/wmt) FOT and including the 13% VAT, up by Yuan 3/wmt from Wednesday, while Mysteel SEADEX 62% Australian Fines also rose $0.95/dmt on day to reach $104.25/dmt CFR Qingdao.   In the futures market, the most-traded iron ore contract
