On January 26, the price of electrolytic cobalt surged Yuan 13,500/t to Yuan 444,727-447,000/tonne from the previous trading day. Moreover, the prices of cobalt sulfate and cobalt chloride continued to remain stable at Yuan 95,500/t-98,500/t and 115,000-119,000/t respectively.In terms of the cobalt sulfate market, raw material costs remained persistently high, placing significant production pressure on smelters. However, constrained by weak downstream demand, smelters' quotations have shown little change. New cobalt sulfate supplies were generally offered around Yuan 96,000-97,000/tonne, while existing older inventory was still being sold at lower prices.
