DAILY: China's coking coal prices fluctuate, trades thin

China's spot coking coal prices continued fluctuating on January 26, with limited momentum for movements in either direction. The prospect for the near-term market hasn't dimmed completely as coal availability is expected to shrink with mines on holiday leave, Mysteel learned.

On Monday, Mysteel's assessment of the national composite coking coal price sat at Yuan 1,301.9/tonne ($187.2/t) including the 13% VAT, shedding Yuan 2.7/t from the last session. Most end-buyers just kept small-scale coal purchases in the spot market this week after a flurry of restocking in the past two weeks.
