WEEKLY: China's spot FeSi prices remain firm

Chinese ferrosilicon (FeSi) prices remained firm overall during January 21-27, with the spot price of 75% FeSi under Mysteel's assessment standing at Yuan 5,364/tonne ($771/t) including the 13% VAT on January 27, rising by Yuan 14/t from one week earlier.

Prices in the derivative market had strengthened during the week, driving up those for spot sales, Mysteel Global noted. On Tuesday, the most-traded FeSi contract on the Zhengzhou Commodity Exchange for delivery in March closed the daytime trading session at Yuan 5,604/t, higher by Yuan 70/t from the settlement price
