On January 27, the price of electrolytic cobalt declined Yuan 7,136/t to Yuan 437,455-440,000/tonne from the previous trading day. In addition, the prices of cobalt sulfate and cobalt chloride continued to be flat at Yuan 95,500/t-98,500/t and 115,000-119,000/t respectively.The spot cost of cobalt sulfate remained largely unchanged yesterday, with smelters' quotations holding steady. Downstream demand continued to be weak. In terms of quotations, cobalt sulfate produced from recycled materials was quoted at approximately Yuan 95,000/t, from MHP at around Yuan 96,000/t, from cobalt intermediates at about Yuan 97,000/t and above, while old inventory was being quoted at roughly Yuan 94,000/t. In this condition, the overall trading activity remained sluggish.
