DAILY: China's coking coal prices stabilize as holiday nears

China's spot coking coal prices were stabilizing from previous declines as of January 30, with both supply and demand showing weakness amid the approaching Chinese New Year (CNY) holiday over February 15-23.

On Friday, Mysteel's assessment of the national composite coking coal price sat at Yuan 1,291.3/tonne ($185.7/t) including the 13% VAT, down by a much smaller Yuan 0.5/t from the previous day. Mysteel's survey results showed that in North China's Shanxi province, three coking coal deals were settled at lower prices
