WEEKLY: Aust., Brazilian iron ore shipments rise 6% WoW

The total volume of iron ore dispatched to global destinations from the 20 ports and 17 mining companies in Australia and Brazil under Mysteel's regular tracking increased for the second straight week to reach 24.7 million tonnes during January 26-February 1, higher by 1.4 million tonnes or 6.1% on week.

The increase was contributed by Brazil, whose iron ore shipments sent worldwide from the country's nine ports jumped 1.5 million tonnes or 27.1% on week to reach 6.9 million tonnes. Among these, the volume sent by Vale surged 1.3 million tonnes or 35.4% on week to 5.1 million tonnes. During
