After the sentiment subsided, edible oil prices fell sharply yesterday. However, in the evening, the Indonesian president announced plans to ban the export of used cooking oil and palm waste, which led to a slight increase in palm oil prices during the night session and also pulled soybean oil up slightly from its lows. Nevertheless, at present, the downward correction trend in edible oils has not yet ended, and it is advisable to maintain a wait-and-see stance for now. On the spot side, market transactions increased slightly after the decline in futures prices, primarily driven by transactions in northern and inland regions for February and March. Last week, factories sold at high prices, and port traders covered their short positions for February-March and March-April. The expectation of tight supply has eased, pulling down the basis performance for February and the post-holiday period. The basis price adjustment after entering February has been relatively pronounced.
