MONTHLY: China's SiMn output rises 1% in Jan

Production of silicomanganese (SiMn) in China recovered in January after the steady fall over the prior two months, with the total tonnage up 10,500 tonnes or 1.2% on month at 853,995 tonnes, according to Mysteel's latest monthly survey among the 187 Chinese SiMn smelters it tracks.

The sampled smelters host 99% of China's SiMn smelting capacity. During January, daily SiMn output among the sampled smelters averaged 27,548 tonnes/day, increasing by 338 t/d or 1.2% from the average for December, the survey results showed.
