In South America, dry weather in some producing regions of Brazil has led to crop yield losses. Agricultural consultancy AgRural recently lowered its forecast for Brazil's 2025/26 soybean production to 178 million tonnes, down from its previous estimate of 181 million tonnes. Meanwhile, the country's soybean harvest has reached 39% of the planted area, notably slower than the 50% completed at the same time last year. The market is closely watching the pace of Brazil's soybean harvest and shipment schedules, as these will be key variables influencing future domestic import costs and supply patterns for soybeans.
