On March 17, the price of electrolytic cobalt declined Yuan 3,459/tonne to Yuan 422,464-423,182/tonne from the previous trading day. In addition, the prices of cobalt sulfate and cobalt chloride continued to be flat at Yuan 95,000/t-98,000/t and 115,000-120,000/t respectively.Supported by strong raw material costs, mainstream smelters of cobalt sulfate have a clear intention to firm up prices. However, downstream manufacturers were strongly inclined to drive prices down, and the mainstream transaction price remained at Yuan 94,000/tonne.
