WEEKLY: Aust., Brazilian iron ore shipments rise 3% WoW

The total volume of iron ore dispatched to global destinations from the 20 ports and 17 mining companies in Australia and Brazil under Mysteel's regular tracking increased for the second straight week to reach 24.6 million tonnes during March 16-22, higher by 736,000 tonnes or 3.1% from the previous week.

The latest increase was attributed to Australia, with iron ore shipped worldwide from its 11 ports growing further by 963,000 tonnes or 5.3% on week to 19.1 million tonnes, of which the volume sent to China, the country's largest iron ore consumer, rose 205,000 tonnes or 1.3% on week
