WEEKLY: Aust., Brazilian iron ore shipments retreat 1.4% WoW

The total volume of iron ore dispatched to global destinations from the 20 ports and 17 mining companies in Australia and Brazil under Mysteel's regular tracking ended a two-week rise and retreated to 26.2 million tonnes during February 23-March 1, lower by 383,000 tonnes or 1.4% from the previous week.

The slight decrease was caused by the reduction in Australia's shipments. During the latest survey period, Australian iron ore shipped worldwide from the country's 11 ports fell by 893,000 tonnes or 4.5% on week to 18.8 million tonnes, with the volume sent to its largest iron ore consumer China
