Sweden's LKAB boosts iron ore shipments in 2025 as rail capacity recovers

Luossavaara-Kiirunavaara Aktiebolag (LKAB), a state-owned Swedish mining company and Europe's largest iron ore producer, posted notable increases in both iron ore production and shipments in 2025, according to the company's latest quarterly report.

LKAB's iron ore output totaled 25.9 million tonnes last year, up by 14% on year. The increase was thanks to fewer disruptions than in 2024, when LKAB's production had been affected by extensive production stoppages, the report said.
