WEEKLY: Aust., Brazilian iron ore shipments rise to 7-week high

The total volume of iron ore dispatched to global destinations from the 20 ports and 17 mining companies in Australia and Brazil had increased for the second straight week to reach a seven-week high of 26.6 million tonnes during February 16-22, higher by a significant 5.6 million tonnes or 27% from the previous week, with the shipments rising from both countries.

During the latest survey period, Brazilian iron ore shipped worldwide from the country's nine ports rose by 618,000 tonnes or 9.9% on week to 6.2 million tonnes, with the volume sent by Vale recording 5.2 million tonnes.
