WEEKLY: Aust., Brazilian iron ore shipments slump to 13-m low

The total volume of iron ore dispatched to global destinations from the 20 ports and 17 mining companies in Australia and Brazil under Mysteel's tracking during March 23-29 ended a two-week rise and slumped by 24.2% on week to reach 18.6 million tonnes, the lowest level since February 2025.

The plunge was observed in Australia's ore shipments, which were severely impacted by the Tropical Cyclone Narelle, Mysteel's survey showed. Many key ports in Western Australia started clearing hubs early last week and fully suspended operations by Thursday to prepare for the cyclone that swept the coastal region, leading
