WEEKLY: China's HRC output edges higher on week

Hot-rolled coil (HRC) production among the 37 Chinese steelmakers regularly surveyed by Mysteel nudged higher by 6,000 tonnes or 0.2% on week during March 26-April 1 to stay around 3.06 million tonnes, as most surveyed mills maintained normal operations last week.

One mill in Northeast China had undertaken brief maintenance work during the survey week, Mysteel Global learned. Therefore, the average operation rate among the 37 sampled steel mills fell by 1.57 percentage points on week to 76.56%. However, hot coil rolling capacity utilization rate still rose by small 0.15 percentage points
