DAILY: China's thermal coal supply remains resilient despite rail maintenance

Thermal coal supply at China's northern ports remained ample despite ongoing maintenance on the Datong-Qinhuangdao (Daqin) railway, capping the upward momentum that was fueled by earlier speculative buying, market sources said.

As of April 8, rail coal shipments to the eight Bohai-rim ports monitored by Mysteel reached 1.3 million tonnes, up from 1.16 million tonnes a week earlier. Since the start of the 30-day Daqin maintenance on April 1, daily inflows have averaged 1.28 million tonnes, down from 1.35 million
