On May 6, the price of electrolytic cobalt rose Yuan 4,909/tonne to Yuan 424,864-427,955/tonne from the previous trading day. In addition, the prices of cobalt sulfate and cobalt chloride continued to be unchanged at Yuan 93,000/t-96,000/t and 113,000-118,000/t respectively.Supported by strong raw material costs, mainstream smelters of cobalt sulfate have shown a clear intention to support prices. However, downstream manufacturers are exerting significant pressure to drive prices down, while quotations from small and medium-sized plants remained stable. There is limited restocking for ternary precursors, with mainstream transaction prices holding steady at around Yuan 91,000/tonne.
