Recently, Bernardus Irmanto, CEO of PT Vale Indonesia (PTVI), and Song Ho-Jun, president of South Korea's Ecopro, visited GEM's Jingmen Circular Economy Industrial Park, where GEM chairman Xu Kaihua hosted the delegation for strategic talks on nickel resource development and downstream industrial chain cooperation.
During the talks, the three parties clarified their respective roles in the industrial chain: PTVI will provide nickel ore supply, GEM will contribute its hydrometallurgical technology, and Ecopro will be responsible for cathode material manufacturing and market application. The parties reached a consensus on advancing the BNSI project in Indonesia, committing to jointly resolve on-ground implementation challenges. The goal is to establish a stable supply system for nickel resources and downstream materials to meet key global market demand.
