WEEKLY: China's rebar output drops further on week

Rebar production among the 137 Chinese steel mills that Mysteel regularly checks, declined for the second consecutive week during the period of April 30-May 6, with the tonnage totaling 1.97 million tonnes, down by some 5% or 102,700 tonnes on week, according to Mysteel's latest survey result.

Similarly, the rebar rolling capacity utilization rate among the sampled mills averaged 43.1% during the same period, lower by 2.3 percentage points on week, while the average operational rate also retreated by 2 percentage points on week to 38%, another Mysteel survey showed.
