Colombia's coal exports soar in March amid global pivot to coal

Coal exports from Colombia a major supplier of the fossil fuel worldwide registered a striking on-year increase of 157.2% to notch 5.46 million tonnes in March, with the export value also soaring 107.7% on year to $481 million, according to the latest statistics from the South American country's National Administrative Department of Statistics (DANE).

The export volume in March marked the highest level in the past three months of this year and particularly a 31.9% jump from the six-month low of 4.14 million tonnes recorded in February, Mysteel Global noted.
