WEEKLY: China's FeSi prices strengthen, sentiment improves

Chinese ferrosilicon (FeSi) prices strengthened during the week of May 13-19, as market sentiment improved on expectations regarding production curbs and the better performance of FeSi futures, Mysteel Global learned.

On May 19, Mysteel assessed the spot price of 75% FeSi at Yuan 5,610/tonne ($824/t) including the 13% VAT, increasing by Yuan 27/t from one week before. On Tuesday, the most-traded FeSi contract on the Zhengzhou Commodity Exchange for delivery in July closed the daytime trading session at Yuan 5,850/t,
