DAILY: Chinese spot alumina prices hold firm, futures strengthen further

China's spot alumina prices remained largely stable on May 26, while futures extended their upward momentum, mainly driven by anticipated tightening of bauxite supply from Guinea.

At the national level, the average price for smelter-grade alumina with a minimum purity of 98.6% stood at Yuan 2,700/tonne ($398/t) on Tuesday, staying flat for the third consecutive working day, according to Mysteel's daily price assessment.
