CBOT soybean futures closed lower due to generally favorable weather across the U.S. Midwest and lower crude oil prices. Overall weather conditions in the core crop belt of the U.S. Midwest remain favorable, causing the weather risk premium to continue dissipating. The USDA's weekly Crop Progress report released on Monday showed that the U.S. soybean crop's good-to-excellent rating stands at 65%, and soybean planting is 92% complete. Although this lags slightly behind the average analyst estimate of 93%, it remains above the five-year average of 88%. Meanwhile, market participants are awaiting the USDA's monthly WASDE report due Thursday for trading direction. Analysts expect the report to show U.S. 2025/26 soybean ending stocks of 338 million bushels, with 2026/27 ending stocks projected at 312 million bushels.
