DAILY: China's coking coal prices extend gains despite emerging caution

Chinese coking coal prices continued to rise on June 11. Most market players held a positive nearterm outlook even as concerns emerged over the sustainability of the rally.

On Thursday, Mysteel Coking Coal Index (MCCI), which tracks coking coal prices nationwide in China, reached Yuan 1,620.9/tonne ($239.6/t) including the 13% VAT, up Yuan 5.6/t from Wednesday. Market sources said cautious sentiment had edged up this week after coking coal futures tumbled on Tuesday, as support from production curbs
