WEEKLY: China's met coke output drops to three-month low

China's metallurgical coke output continued to shrink, touching a three-month low this week as some producers cut production due to increasing profit squeeze from firm coal prices as well as a persistent shortage of coal feedstocks.

According to Mysteel's survey, the daily met coke output of the sampled 230 independent coke plants dipped another 0.2% from the previous week to reach an average of 507,100 tonnes/day over June 17-24, hitting the lowest level since mid-March and 1.86% lower on a yearly basis.
