The lithium carbonate futures price pulled back yesterday, while spot transactions showed some signs of recovery. The lithium refineries showed a tendency to release cargoes when futures prices offered favourable pricing opportunities. Yet, traders' inventories of lithium carbonate remained low, and the spot basis held steady.
On the demand side, LFP producers continued to see strong order books, though some were constrained by the pace of capacity expansion. On the spot market, the spot transactions significantly contracted last week when lithium prices were on the uptrend, which capped further upside momentum. And the lithium carbonate prices are expected to hover rangebound in the near term.
