DAILY: China's thermal coal rally lulls as demand remains soft

China's portside thermal coal market continued to stabilize on July 22 following earlier rallies, as traders ceased raising offers amid weak buying interest from downstream users, sources said.

On Wednesday, Mysteel assessed 5,500 kcal/kg NAR thermal coal at northern ports at Yuan 825/tonne ($121.9/t) FOB with VAT, up Yuan 1/t from Tuesday. The 5,000 kcal/kg NAR grade also rose Yuan 1/t to Yuan 735/t, while the 4,500 kcal/kg NAR grade held flat at Yuan 642/t. Along the Yangtze
