On July 29, the market price of electrolytic cobalt increased Yuan 2,500/tonne to Yuan 335,818-338,682/tonne. In addition, the market prices of cobalt chloride and cobalt sulfate remained stable at Yuan 100,000-102,000/t and 80,000/t-83,000/t respectively.Cobalt chloride prices remained broadly stable overall, holding flat for several consecutive days. However, actual contract prices further moved down. The market continued its weak trend, with low inquiry and trading activity. Orders from downstream precursor producers showed no signs of improvement, making cobalt chloride the most difficult cobalt salt to move in terms of shipment. Trading in the cobalt sulfate market was thin, with most downstream participants staying on the sidelines.
