China's property developer 'middle tier' shrinks further as market polarization deepens

China's number of property developers in the middle tier of sales rankings has continued to decline year on year. According to data released by the China Index Academy, only six developers recorded sales of between Yuan 30 billion ($4.44 billion) and Yuan 100 billion in the first seven months of 2026, down by four from the same period in 2025.
