China private fund scale hits record as AI, quant firms expand

As of the end of April 2026, China's outstanding private equity fund assets reached Yuan 23.46 trillion ($3.45 trillion), marking a new record high and the seventh consecutive month of growth since the previous peak in October 2015, according to the latest data released by the Asset Management Association of China.

On the product issuance side, 2,348 private funds were newly filed in April, with a combined registered scale of Yuan 92.868 billion.
