DAILY: Seaborne iron ore increase amid flash trading

Seaborne iron ore prices moved up on Thursday, August 6, with trading concentrated in medium-grade fines. The Mysteel SEADEX 61% Fines increased by $1.95/dmt to $95.50/dmt, while the 62% Low Alumina Fines index gained $1.90/dmt to $101.65/dmt. All indices are assessed on a CFR Qingdao basis.

Primary market liquidity remained relatively robust. One MACF cargo with a laycan of September 9–18 was traded on public platforms at $95.50 on a 60.5% Fe basis, equivalent to flat against the September 61% index.
