WEEKLY: China ferrous scrap prices continue sliding

Steel Scrap Demand Inventory Price
Chinese prices of steel scrap slipped further in the past week as the scrap demand among domestic steelmakers weakened again, Mysteel's latest survey showed.
As of August 7, Mysteel assessed China's composite steel scrap price at Yuan 2,434/tonne ($360.7/t) including the 13% VAT, slightly lower by Yuan 6.7/t or 0.2% from a week earlier.     Domestic scrap prices weakened in tandem with the continuous drops seen in the prices of finished steel products.
