WEEKLY: China's spot SiMn prices recover from intra-week low

China's silicomanganese (SiMn) prices recovered in the second half of last week, with the national price of 6517 SiMn under Mysteel's assessment standing at Yuan 5,598/tonne ($830/t) including the 13% VAT on August 7, higher by Yuan 7/t on week and by Yuan 61/t from the recent low recorded on August 4.

As for the futures market, the most-traded SiMn contract on the Zhengzhou Futures Exchange for delivery in September closed the daytime trading session on August 7 at Yuan 5,668/t, still lower by Yuan 24/t compared with the settlement price on July 31, according to the exchange's data. Many SiMn smelters
