China's manganese ore prices weaken further

China's manganese ore market continued to lose ground amid negative sentiment during July 22-28. The price of South Africa-origin 36.5% grade manganese ore at North China's Tianjin port under Mysteel's assessment came in at Yuan 34.5/dmtu ($5.1/dmtu) including the 13% VAT on July 28, slipping by Yuan 1.2/dmtu on week and marking the lowest since December 26 2025.

Trading prices of manganese ore in the physical market declined in the past week, as downstream alloy smelters cut their procurement prices of this ore to reduce production costs and ease their losses given the persistent weakness in silicomanganese (SiMn) prices.
