Tin prices fell on August 10. According to Mysteel, as of 15:30, the traded price of 1# tin ingot in the Shanghai market stood at Yuan 425,500–428,500/t, averaging Yuan 427,000/t, decreasing by Yuan 7,000/t. In terms of market trading, downstream enterprises increased spot purchases for restocking, while a small number of downstream buyers failed to transact due to low bid prices. End-user orders remained weak, limiting downstream rigid demand. Overall, trading sentiment improved slightly, but total trading volume was still moderate. Looking ahead, a low U.S. dollar index and tight raw material supply are lending support to tin prices, but sluggish consumer demand is a drag. Attention should be paid to the upcoming U.S. inflation data. In the short term, tin prices are expected to fluctuate widely at elevated levels.
