WEEKLY: Aust., Brazilian iron ore shipments drop 7.6% WoW

After the previous week's increase, the total volume of iron ore dispatched to global destinations from the 20 ports and 17 mining companies in Australia and Brazil retreated again to reach 25.1 million tonnes during August 3-9, lower by 2.1 million tonnes or 7.6% from the previous week, according to Mysteel's tracking.

The decrease was driven by a large reduction in Brazil's iron ore shipments, as the volume sent worldwide from the country's nine ports slumped by 2.2 million tonnes or 22% from the previous week to 7.7 million tonnes, with the volume shipped by Vale falling 1.4 million tonnes or
