China's coking coal hubs saw widespread price increases on August 12, as robust buying demand amid tight spot supplies pushed the market higher.

On Wednesday, Mysteel Coking Coal Index (MCCI) – a benchmark for China's domestic coking coal prices – rose to Yuan 1,744.8/tonne ($258.7/t) including 13% VAT, marking a jump of Yuan 18.7/t from the previous session.
