DAILY:Seaborne iron ore prices increase amid flash trading

Seaborne iron ore prices rose on Monday, August 24, supported by higher coke prices. The Mysteel SEADEX 61% Fines increased by 1.78% or 1.7/dmt to 97.2/dmt, while the 62% Low Alumina Fines index gained 1.74% or 1.75/dmt to 102.1/dmt. All indices are assessed on a CFR Qingdao basis.

Primary-market liquidity was robust, with two trades concluded on public platforms. One parcel of MACF (laycan Sep 16–25) traded at $96.40 on a 60.5% Fe basis, equating to a $0.10–0.20/dmt discount to the October index. Its floating price softened mildly.
