WEEKLY: Chinese mills' coke stocks deplete further amid tight supply

This week saw Chinese steelmakers' coke stocks fall to a 12-month trough, as continuous output cuts among coke producers kept the market supply constrained. The tightening fundamentals promptly rebalanced the pricing landscape, giving coke prices a strong lift over the week.
Mysteel's survey among the 247 sampled blast-furnace mills shows that their combined metallurgical coke inventories fell by another 3.97% on week to sit at a one-year low of 6.15 million tonnes as of August 27.   This marks the 11th consecutive weekly drawdown, as steel mills have scaled back their coke
